Welcome to 5th Grade South here at Louisville Elementary School! I'm Mrs. Simon and I teach Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies. My teaching career began at North Canton Middle School, where I taught Advanced 7th Grade Reading and Language Arts. I then stayed home with my children for many years. I have been teaching in Louisville for the past 9 years and there's no other place I'd rather be! My husband and I live in Louisville with our two daughters and two dogs. My daughter Megan is in the 11th grade, and Lauren is in the 9th grade. I love to read, garden, cook, craft, and spend time with family and friends. I have always wanted to be a teacher and feel very blessed to work with my students. I have a passion for reading and my goal is to make each child not only a better reader, but to find the joy in reading! Success at school is a true partnership between parents and teacher. I want your child to be the best that he or she can be. Please feel free to contact me at anytime at 875-1177, ext. 3525, or at [email protected]. First Nine Weeks AR Goals- Students need to reach their individual point goal and have at least an 80% comprehension average by the end of the nine weeks. We have set a goal of reading one chapter book per due date to help reach our goals. Due Dates- 9/9, 9/23, 10/7, and 10/21 *You can always log in to AR Home Connection to check your child's progress. Schoology- Check out assignments your child has completed or some he/she are working on now. https://app.schoology.com/login Here are the steps to see your child’s assessments through Schoology.
Data Binders We will be implementing our Blended Learning and instead of recording Leopard Leader scores in a binder, we will be recording them in lepapps with the Chromebooks. Instead of signing the signature paper in the data folder, there will be a spot on the Roar Chart to mark your initials saying that you have checked the grades in lepapps or on PIV for each week. Some of those Leopard Leader grades will still be kept in a binder at school or recorded in Schoology or Think Central. We realize that not everyone has internet access at home and we will work with you to make sure you are able to see your child’s assignments. If you have any questions, please ask us. |
